An Interesting Week

I think it's fair to say this week has been quite interesting.

Not only did I turn 50, but I found and ordered something which has proved elusive for some time.

Some time ago I posted pictures from a magazine called Bizarre Nostalgia.

The magazine clearly marked Part 1 Volume 4 Number 4. The intimation that there might be a Part 2 sparked my search. I found a listing for the missing Part 2 on an american website but they refused to give me any details on the Magazine which was extremely frustrating.

The first part featured many pictures from days gone by, many of which originated from London Life, the old pre war magazine, which had contributions from Bottier.

I'm pleased to report that I have finally found a copy of the missing volume and bought it. From the look of it there are quite a few images I havent seen before which looks extremely encouraging. Once I receive the magazine I will endeavour to scan it and will try and post some of the interesting bits for you to see.

Clips

One of the problems with our old site was we could never post them in their full glory due to the server we had the site located on, constantly hassling us about bandwidth.

Many you may not have seen before, but ,most feature gorgeous boots in amazing quality. I've posted 10 clips so far. Northampton

In the film Kinky Boots, one of the characters takes delight on leaving the UK town of Northampton, as she associates it with everything that is stiffling her life.

Of course Northampton has a rich and varied association with the manufacture of shoes and boots as illustrated, not only the history of manufacturing, but notoriety of films, and the recorded evidence as illustrated in Northampton's Museum which has one section devoted to 'walking on the wild side'.

My thanks go out to the donator of these pictures, who very kindly sent them to me after visiting the museum. I have to admit I love the thigh length boots shown that appear to date to circa 1910, plus the red heeled ankle boots which date 1875-1899. Just astonishing boots from such an early date.

Just who commissioned them and who wore them, we can only imagine. However these beauties must warrant the cost of admission on their own wouldn't you say?

A New Start

Firstly I hope you all had a great New Year!

With the dawn of a New Year and alittle time off, plus time to contemplate New Year resolutions, I thought it time to re-evaluate the blog.

I decided to drop the 'image fund donation' bit for starters. This has proved a complete non event. I can't say I was surprised. Only two readers really took it upon themselves to offer any help to buy some of these really rare images, so perhaps it's best we consign that to the scrap heap.

I suppose the reality is of course that in general folks want something for nothing!

If you ask people to actually put their hands in their pockets, most find they have short arms and long pockets..lol.

Still as they say..you live and learn.

In actuality my time is very limited these days some I dont have the time to do regular updates, however I will try to post bits and bobs from time to time if I think it's of interest.

I'm afraid though I wont be posting large size images anymore though. I don't see why if I have to spend alot to salvage rare images, why everyone else should get to enjoy them in their full glory for free.

I am however intending to add a site on Clips4Sale however of some of the old video footage we took when my old website was up and running. That should hopefully generate alittle cash to help towards the cost of buying these very rare images. Who knows, if that proves popular I may even restart taking footage myself..lol. Some of the old stuff has never been seen in it's full quality before. My video camera actually takes everything in cinema quality..so the real mccoy is quite stunning to watch. So I hope one or two may find that interesting. I will post more details when I actually start that up. I'm not out to become rich..so the clips will be low priced.

In the meantime..I suppose the old adage of watch this space still applies..

I've been really pushed for time in my day job and have had little time for updating my blogs.

I will endeavour to spend more time on them in the New Year.

Time Out

I've decided to take some time out from this particular blog.

I am quite busy at work so time is somewhat restricted just now and I'm finding I have a degree of writers block..if that's possible when it comes to a blog..lol.

Having posted 266 articles I don't wish to keep writing the same stuff all the time, and run the risk of repeating myself especially when I am lacking inspiration.

So it seems sensible to take some time out.

I'll most likely be back before too long. There's plenty on here to read, so please take time to explore the blog's back catalogue.

Reunited

I was pleased recently to acquire yet another picture, which eminated from the Klaw stable.

It was of course only sold by Klaw as part of his 'b' series, which he had actually acquired from elsewhere. My feeling these pictures originated in Australia, and that the boots featured may well have been made by Achilles.

It's nice to finally reunited these pictures together. I have no doubt though that there are still more from this series out there somewhere. So the search still continues.

The Perfect Adornment?

I'm talking of Spurs of course. Are they the perfect boot adornment?

I'm sure you all have something you prefer more. Perhaps some ankle jewellery?

Of course the reality is that is in some way what a spur is. Of course the Boot Spur has it's origins in practicality. I'm not sure who invented it, however it's origins date back as far as the 5th century BC. Even the Roman Empire was known to use them.

The Spur is known to have been used throughout history, but I suppose has become synonimous with Cowboys. Their use is of course to steer horses but the very old word derives from the Anglo-Saxon words spura, spora, related to spornan, spurnan, to kick, spurn.

Hardly surprising that in fetish terms, something designed to give a stimulus to horses, to make them do or go in the direction you wish, has exactly the same effect on humans!

Personally I don't own any, but I love the sight of them being worn. What about you?

Kitten Heels

In the couple of years I've been doing my blog I think it's fair to say one type of heel I've been remiss to include is Kitten Heeled boots.

My thoughts always stem back to Julie Newmar, famous of course for portaying Batman's feline criminal Catwoman.

She always wore a slinky catsuit and kitten heeled ankle boots.

It's a style of heel you don't see that often butI personally liked the way it shaped a girls foot.

Magazines

I suppose with the advent of the internet, publishers have pretty much given up on magazines for the bootlover. Confined to internet publications such as Bootlovers, the days of the published Boot magazines has now expired sadly.

Of course many of these publications now appear on the internet, and when they appear on sites like Ebay, they get snapped up as collectibles. Occasionally if we are lucky they get posted on forums after having been copied by their owner to share with others. Invariably the publishers no longer exist, and I guess if the uploader didn't scan these, they would eventually disappear.

Like my reasons for trying to save rare images, I have to thank those people out in the internet world, who have taken the time to scan magazines, because they are people from my own heart.

I've downloaded many myself. Here's a few front covers which are readily available on the world wide web.

An Exciting Era

I suppose being a child of the Swinging Sixties, I can't say I remember too much about it. I suppose my earliest recollections start around 1965/1966. Nancy Sinatra was singing 'These Boots Were Made For Walking', and plastic was very much in evidence as not only a way to make 'Modern' furniture, but very much in fashion for clothing and footwear.

It was undeniably an exciting era for not only flower power, but also people expressing peace and love, and moreover a willingness to express themselves with clothing. Almost nothing was off-limits.

Crotch Length Patent Boots with flat heels and over the knee boots became very much the 'thing' to wear. Fashion designers went head first into this plastic era, with big name fashion models flaunting their stuff up and down the fashion worlds catwalks.

Sneaky Advertising

I thought before I make another posting I'd make a polite request that folks out there who wish to get a message or a link on my blog don't try to sneak a self advert onto my blog through the comments section on my postings.

All comments on my blog are moderated. I chose that option not to censor, but to make sure any offensive language of blatent advertising could be stopped. I don't moderate many comments out because I genuinely want to either spark a debate or am curious to hear what you think.

Of course my blog is there for all to see. I started it originally, as you know, because I felt there was a gap in the market, so to speak, as no-one looked more deeply at boots than just pictures. I also wanted to make sure that boots and their history had a reference place on the web.

Making Connections

I sometimes overlook that when I am looking at pictures, I've actually seen the face of the model before somewhere else.

I was recently looking at a series of Irving Klaw pictures which were taken sometime in the 1950's, and for some reason I had the feeling I'd seen the model's face on another set of pictures somewhere, but couldn't for the life of me, remember where.

Quite by chance whilst looking for something else I came across the other set.

In the amazing thigh length lace up boots in both sets of pictures is the same girl!How strange I hadn't noticed before..but then I suppose it's an easy connection to miss.

So here we are..reuniting 2 sets of pictures, which I am quite sure must have been taken in close proximity to each other.

I hope you like them as much as I do.

The Joy of Ballet

I guess when you are a fan of boots in whatever form, the joy you gain seeing a beautiful girl wearing boots of any form is very special.

I can only guess what gave someone the idea of progressing the ballet shoe wearing girl to the desire to see a girl wearing a boot which forces her to stand as thougn pirched on tip toe like in the ballet, however we can only thank our lucky stars that someone managed to convince a boot maker to make this idea into reality.

I havent featured too many articles on ballet boots to date. There isnt some hidden meaning behind this. I love seeing girls in ballet boots ! However I have tried to keep the blog varied. By that i mean I dont want to just show only one thing. hence the variety of topics on the blog.

I was scanning though my collection of pictures and came across a set of pictures which I had kinda forgotten about.

They just illustrate how sexy a girl can be wearing ballet thigh high boots. Taken around the end the 1950's early 1960's.. they are kinda timeless classics. Fifty years doesnt diminish just how lovely these pictures are..I hope you agree.

I recently came across another picture from a set of bondage photos which I think originated around the early 1960's, which came I think from some of the Klaw/Nutrix/Mutrix era.

I looked through previous entries on my blog because I was sure I had posted some of these before, but I must be losing my marbles cause I couldnt find them.

I was looking at some older pictures the other day.

I realised that I was actually looking at the boots of course but had actually taken very little notice of the setting the picture had been taken in.

Oddly enough I thought back to when I used to take pictures and tried to think back to my own rationale in deciding when to set the scene.

Of course it's always nice to take pictures in lovely locations, and the fact the girl infront of the camera lense happens to be wearing a pair of boots just enhances that image.

I bought them to add to my collection and although I couldnt afford to buy them all I think you'll agree the ones I did get are lovely.

Travellers Guide Part 1

For those of you out there in Boot Fetish Land, that have an interest in going to see the sights, perhaps should you be on vacation, you might wish to go see some vintage couture on your travels.

Here's a couple of suggestions as to where to go and what you'll find there.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art may be a good starting point. They feature some amazing boots and thigh boots from Belgium which date to around 1900. Apart from some amazing corsets etc it makes this place well worth a look.

Next stop could be a trip to the Victoria&Albert Museum in London. Once again holders of an interesting collection of couture through the ages. Again they own some boots which date to around 1895-1915 again believed to have been manufactured in Belgium which belonged to our old friend Lionel Ernest Bussey.

I believe Bussey may have been our Mysterious Bottier, who regularly contributed to London Life in a prolific manor.

If you happen to be in New York, why not visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art. They own the amazing Maniatis Crotch High Button Boots made around 1920. Not to mention the other 330 pairs of vintage boots they own, which you can see on their website, including many from Herbert Levine and other well known names from the world of fashion.

Eighty Years On

I don't know what it is about old pictures but they seem to be so much more appealing sometimes, than more modern ones. perhaps it's the innocence portrayed? Perhaps it's the simplicity of the picture says it all?

I just love looking at images taken at a time when the models didnt seem to have a care in the world. The images shown date back to around 1930 and who can argue that they havent a beautiful quality about them.

The clothing shows their age, but the boots are still as beautiful today as they were then.

Perhaps you disagree..but I love these old pictures!

I suppose one of my favourite bondage models of the late 1970's and 1980's was Cheryl Rothman.

I don't know what it was about her that I liked. Perhaps it was a sense of innocence or a natural quality about the pictures she was appeared in, it's hard to say.

Nonetheless there were numerous bondage magazines that she featured in including a series of 5 under her own name, and two with another model that has also featured on these pages before called Lyndia.

Laterly she featured with bondage models teri Martine and Judith Wilson in pictures from the Mark Marr stable.

I featured pictures of her before on the blog because she is often to be found wearing boots. Puchetti knee highs to be more precise, which are pretty rare.

I found these shots recently on ebay that I hadn't seen before. I didnt bid on them because the price of pictures on ebay is getting prohibitive now, and you cant buy em all!

The other model featured is none other than Judith Wilson.

The seller put his label across them so my apologies for the crude attempt to edit those out. I hope you like the anyway.

Studious

I suppose I should really pay more attention to some of the pictures that people send me.

I sometimes have a tendency to file things and not really study them carefully.

One such picture came from my good friend Manoleat, who sent me a picture some time back which I featured on the blog many moons ago.

It is a picture which is believed to be from infamous boot maker named Herr Berger.

His boots are highly sort after and extremely rare, but as you know, information on him is extremely scarce too! The catalogue had surfaced oddly enough in Dearborn,Michigan.USA of all places. Part of an estate sale.

Manoleat kindly sent me another picture which comes from a magazine published sometime ago. This shows a model wearing the knee high boots shown in the catalogue(top right). In green leather too! How rare must they be??

Sadly little else of the catalogue has surfaced, which is a great shame. I wonder if Mr J.G of Dearborn is reading my blog. Perhaps he might allow us to see more of his very rare catalogue.

Hom Bondage Classics

During the 1980's Hom produced a range of Bondage Videos called Bondage Classics.

All of these were in fact quite cheesy, especially when combined with the pornesque style music playing in the background.

Obviously bondage was the main feature, however quite often the models were wearing very high heels or boots.

I havent seen them all, however Classics 2,4,5,16 and 18 are defintitely worth a look.

I've added a couple of pictures taken from the videos. They arent particularly good quality but you get my drift.

The Waif in Question

I suppose being a Boot Fetishist I should enjoy seeing any woman wearing a pair of boots, however having viewed a few [pictures recently which feature several supermodel wearing boots, I was actually quite disturbed at just how thin these girls are!

Seeing a pair of boots on a super thin supermodel, that resembles a stick insect can be quite alarming not sexy. My own thoughts turned to just how thin does a model have to be to get a job? I suppose I should have been looking at the picture.

Do designers really think that someone who looks anorexic enhances the chances of them selling more?

Personally I like alittle more meat on the bone. Skeletal does nothing for me at all! The site of a waif wearing boots is quite offputting in my humble opinion, but perhaps you disagree?

New Issue Imminent

Bootlady Teri has posted a couple of preview pics on her blog, the most interesting of which features Mistress Tokyo wearing the 'berger' lace up thigh length berger boots. Well worth a look me thinks. I'm curious to know what Mistress Tokyo's feeling were wearing such a famous pair of boots. Care to tell us MT? ;-)

My Kind of Cowboy Boot

I was looking at ebay recently and came across a pair of ladies cowboy that I actually like..hehe. I've never been a great fan of the chunky heels you get with them but always found the leather designs on them pretty cool.

Unfortunately although I like the design of a cowboy boot, I can't say i'd rush out and buy a pair at the price requested. At £295 they seem quite pricey. I've added a link if you wish to go buy yourself a pair.

The TT Races

All this week I have been watching some great bike racing from the Isle of Man TT Races.

It seems once again that you just cant separate bikes and boots, worn mostly by the ever lovely brolly dollies.

I suppose the bike sponsors like to promote their products by making sure eyecatching girls sporting their logos, are prominently placed.

It doesnt really matter though. It's just great to see and the racing is always great to watch. The girls in their boots are just icing on the cake.

Is This The Answer?

Some time back, I wrote a couple of articles about a person who regularly contributed to London Life. He used the pseudonym Bottier.

I further had contact from another chap who claimed he had met Mrs Bottier not long before her death. Mr B had died some time before and the person who emailled did not wish to disclose his true identity, but did venture some things about him. He was a successful businessman, who ran an expensive car dealership.

Recently I was pointed to the following link which relates to a pair of fetish knee length boots bequeathed to the Victoria and Albert Meseum in London.

This pair was part of a large collection of shoes and boots which was offered to the Museum around 1969 on the death of Lionel Ernest Bussey.

Is this our mysterious Bottier??

If I had to take a guess, I would say Yes.

If the shoe fits, is a popular analogy, however in this case it would be highly unlikely that with so many coincidences that it wasn't him.

We know that Bottier regularly bought boots from Regent Shoes, where these particular boots came from. His death was roughly the same time the collection was offered to the Museum. How many other wealthy shoe and boots collectors would match the same criteria. As quoted on the link..

"Lionel Ernest Bussey collected shoes from about 1914 until his death in 1969. The shoes, all ladies, were bought from ordinary fairly good class shoe shops, like Dolcis and Lilley & Skinner, and represent almost all types of fashionable shoe throughout the period, even during the periods of scarcity between the two great wars. Mr Bussey seems to have liked ladies shoes in general, and not just one particular type. His taste seems good and not eccentric.By his death he had collected about 600 pairs, all new and unworn, many not even unwrapped, still boxed up with their (dated) bills. He was fairly well off and spent a considerable amount on his collection. He had an eye for quality."

Of course we know that not only did Bottier collect but he also wore some boots etc too. The Museum makes no mention of that, or for that matter, his wife, who survived him until 1985.

There is little known about what happened to his collection after her death, and it may be fair to assume that he died without having made a will. Not uncommon, which might explain why the Museum was contacted by the Executor of his Estate. We know that they only selected a number of items from his collection, the rest being offered to other museums, which might account for other pairs of boots appearing elsewhere round the world such as The Met. He may of course have wished his collection to go to a Museum? Unfortunately though if one dies intestate (without a will), an executor is appointed and if your wishes are not known, they do what they think best to dispose of the estate. One might assume everything would pass to a wife, but that isnt always the case! Our interest in fetish boots might not be viewed the same way as a museum might look at them. Purely from a historical standpoint, perhaps the museum took what it thought might be beneficial to it's own collection. Sad to see such a collection split up and distributed round the world.

Of course it is hard to be 100% sure if Lionel Bussey is Bottier. Personally I think it may well be! Perhaps you have the missing links in the jigsaw puzzle?

A World Gone GaGa

The title of the article doesn't imply the world has gone mad, unless it's in the context of the craze for Lady GaGa.

I watched highlights at the weekend, of BBC Radio One's Big Weekend, from of all places, Carlisle. Now for those of you around the world, Carlisle is a place on the Western side of the UK in the county of Cumbria.

The world in Cumbria seemed to have stopped at the arrival of the famous Lady GaGa, who admitted on TV she would rather die than have her fans see her not wearing heels.

I found it quite amusing, and her rather charming, and not at all what I imagined. She seems very together, not at all caught up in the hysteria that seems to surround her.

You have to love the woman in that she seems to be constantly wearing very high heeled shoes and boots, and mostly wears outrageous outfits of leather latex and notoriously meat!

What irritated me was the pathetic TV presenters who went on ad-nauseum. The show itself was excellent and the music was great! Not that I'm a fan of hers but even I enjoyed it. She definitely is a real showman!

Some time ago..and by that I mean a 10 years ago now, I looked at the very first issue of Bootlovers. It featured an item about Veronica Miceli and her husband Karsten. Veronica is a Leather Tailor, and the woman behind Miceli Designs. Karsten is owner of Fashion Unlimited, which is a High Heeled Shoe and Boot Retailer. For obvious reasons both operate from the same shop in Essen in Germany.

The article was written in the context of the history of the 'Boot Suit'. It also features Atomage and some vagueries on the history of the origins of the Boot Suit.

My focus however turned to Miceli Designs. My feeling was there was something special about Miceli. Of course it's stunning to see a woman dressed in leather, but to see the pictures on the Miceli website now, you can see just how far they have moved on in 10 years.

To a boot fetishist, Veronica and Karsten's sites are a joy to behold. Some simply stunning pictures, which demonstrate the direction both businesses are aimed at.

I have posted a few pictures above which illustrate just exactly what I mean.

I hope you will go and take a better look at both sites. You won't be disappointed!

Long Overdue

Some time back I spoke with well known T-Girl model Nicci Tristan.

I said I was thinking of giving her a mention on the blog. The reason is fairly obvious. She has a huge collection of fantastic boots and many of the pictures you see of her used to feature boots in some form or other. I havent looked at her website recently so I am only guessing that is still the case.

Some wonderful outdoor pictures and a combination of latex andfetish outfits and very high heeled boots and shoes..sounds perfect to me!

Of course not everyone is into tv's but an open mind and a love of boots, many guys might consider themselves of a similar ilk. Afterall is wearing high heeled thigh or knee boots solely the domain of the ladies?

At Last

Well after much trials and tribulations with leatherworks my new boots finally arrived.

As you can see from the picture above they are really great quality and exactly what I ordered.

What has really disappointed me this time as you know, was the length of time it's taken Leatherworks to deliver them! I think 8 weeks is unacceptable really in this day and age.

Despite rumours that leatherworks may have closed, I can confirm 'this is definitely not the case'! If you have been having having problems with an order I do suggest you chase them. The only way to let sellers know what they are doing isn't good enough is to complain!!

Don't worry if you end up on an answer machine, (something I personally hate!), as Costa 'will' return your call. Whether they are vetting calls I don't know, but keep trying. If they promise something hold them too it! Remember you are the buyer and you have rights under UK Law!

As for me I won't be ordering anything new for a while. I will most likely order from Leatherworks again in the future. I just wish they would get their customer service sorted out. It's the only thing that is letting them down!

The Klaw Archives Update

I just updated my other blog which I know you all know is The Klaw Archives.

I have no idea how many of you fellow boot fetishists actually take time to check out my other blog but if you don't, now is the perfect time to do so.

My latest update is a series of Klaw pictures which were donated to me by someone in America, which have a beautiful model bond and gagged outside in an amazing pair of patent knee high boots.

I heard Leatherworks may have gone bust!!

After doing some digging, I read someone had been to their offices only a few days ago and found it all padlocked up, with no signs of life. Their phone number was cutting to an answering machine.

I myself as you know ordered from them recently and did actually get an email back from them two weeks ago. They claimed to be really busy..so it came as a shock to find rumours circulating that they had closed!

I contacted them today and did get a reply from Costa to say my boots would be sent out on Tuesday next week. I did say to him that rumours are circulating of their demise, which for him, should ring alarm bells. He didn't sound very surprised and didn't comment, other than to confirm they had had to stop production after an issue with faulty heels, with quantites of stock having been returned to them for repair after heels were found to be breaking due to faulty heel manufacture. I am assuming that new heels have arrived and they are resuming production.

I will keep you posted if the boots I ordered do arrive!

Nonsense and Bullshit

I'm beginning to wonder why I actually ordered from Leatherworks in the first place.

I placed an order over 6 weeks ago. When I deemed to query what was happening, having noticed incidentally that they had cashed my cheque within days of me sending it, I either seem to get no reply to emails, or when they do reply it's contadictary bullshit.

To say I am less than impressed is an understatement. Come back TLSB all is forgiven!

Perhaps I am just being impatient? I certainly didn't expect this of Leatherworks after past purchases. Which makes me wonder what is going on?

I'll keep you posted. I wonder what the next excuse is gonna be?

Back to Normality

HI folks..had to get a new computer after the old one died.

I should get back to blogging very shortly once I have everything reloaded.

I have also been awaiting the arrival of a new pair of boots. However once again Leatherworks are on a go slow, so I sit and twiddle my thumbs while I wait for them to pull their finger out! Sadly they are dropping rapidly in my estimation. I will tell you more shortly. In the meantime keep checking in..normal service will resume shortly.

Dirty Boots

I suppose that when we think of boots, we think of nice clean boots in delicious leather, be it shiny or not.

Of course as in all things there is a huge variety and of course a huge variation in tastes.

Not everyone likes nice and clean, infact some prefer downright dirty boots.

One person commented that they had a liking for waders, and those that wear them. Being honest I don't think too much about waders myself, but such is the diversity of Boot Fetishism, they are something which warrant attention too. However the wader is quite functional, and I'm guessing are mostly used by folks that go fishing etc. The idea being of course, to keep the feet and legs dry in deep water.

I did start thinking though that in fact some actively go out wearing boots with the intention of getting them really dirty and wet. Infact, if you browse the likes of youtube, you'll see plenty of videos of guys and girls for that matter, sinking in mud wearing a variety of boots, or sploshing around in water or at muddy locations, but not just in waders. Personally I couldn't see any of my collection being soaked in water or caked in mud, let alone having to clean them afterwards, but perhaps thats part of the fun too?
It's certainly something which isn't much in evidence on my blog, so it's time I made amends, and I think certainly warrants a mention.

The thrill of wearing boots outside is something special. However waders especially in general are crotch length, so basically your legs are encased in rubber up to your crotch, albeit they arent exactly tight fitting like 'Acquo' boots. However I did notice that if the boots being worn in these pictures aren't acquos, they tend to be 'cheaper' pairs of thigh highs etc. Perhaps they get ruined by the water and mud? It may be of course that they are only worn the once and are bought specifically for the purposes of having the pictures taken. Sadly alot of the videos on youtube seem to be taken by the person wearing the boots in isolation. A remote location etc, so my guess is they havent found another person that shares their love of this particular fetish, but wish to record the event.

The Beautiful Contrast

One of the joys of being a boot fetishist, without stating the obvious, comes from seeing a women's legs encased in a wonderful pair of boots.

In the picture above, which appeared many years ago in Bizarre, we have the beautiful contrast of the lovely ladies legs dressed and undressed.

Interestingly the boots are button up crotch length ones, which although I suppose in modern times is almost unknown, back then they must have been a stunning sight to see.

This picture reminds me what being a boot fetishist is all about. The joy one gets from seeing a woman's legs in a beautiful pair of boots. I hope you agree.

A Sad Demise

I'm sure there are one or two folks out there wondering what I am talking about when it comes to the title of this article.

Unfortunately I'm referring to 'Booted Up'.

Personally I'm a big fan of the website Bootlovers, and infact some of my own pictures are on their website. I am also a fan of Bootlovers own BootLady Teri. I'm sorry to say though , the same can't be said of Booted Up! (The blog connected to Bootlovers).

All that really appears on the blog now is fashion pictures featuring models in gloves or boots, taken from various fashion and women's magazines.

There's little or no comment, infact I can't really think of anything else it does except links to pictures. Very occasional update info, but as they don't update much now, comments on updates is unsurprisingly limited. I suppose I shouldn't really be too critical, afterall perhaps they aren't a big fan of my blog either. However our viewpoint stems from what you feel a blog is there for. I'm not really sure what booted up is actually here for nowadays.

It's kind of sad to me that 'booted up' is now little more then a window on the fashion world, and a limited one at that. I'd love to see more on their blog, but somehow I don't see that happening. Do you?

Simply Bootifull

As the blog has now almost reached an amazing 200k hits, I wanted to say thank you to everyone that takes the time to read my ramblings about the wonderful world of boots and those who delight in them.

As I intended to feature something special on the blog when it reached 200k hits, now is the time to feature a website that hasn't been on the blog before. In my opinion it's one of the most underrated sites on the web. The site I'm talking about is of course Bootifull.

It's the work of a great guy called Larry from California, in the USA.
Larry told me that around 1998 he realised that he wasn't content to just look at pictures of women in boots, and took the decision to invest in some boots and find someone to model them for him. From his initial membership of thighboots.com,with alittle help, he progressed to being a photographer and site owner, he quickly found girls happy to model for him. One thing led to another, and Bootifull was born.

He had a clear vision of how he wanted Bootiful to progress, but also how he wanted his pictures to look. He admits some of his initial shoots tended to drift in the wrong direction as the 'models' had their own agendas.

Around 2003, after some frustration he took the decision to steer his work more towards 'positive' images of boot wearing girls, away from what some might term 'pornesque'.

Being quite selective about who modelled for him, he regained control of the direction he wanted his work to go and now the site has established itself as perhaps one of the best sites of it's kind with not only stunning pictures and videos but regular updates, unlike some sites I might mention.

Bootifull is a paysite, which puts many off, but it isn't expensive in my opinion for what you getfor your money!

Boot Fetishists among you have something like 25,000 pictures to look at!!
There are large number of videos, many in HD and smaller formats, 108 different models, and live feeds. It also has a guy in charge who is a genuine boot fetishist, who owns around 170 pairs of boots!

Larry doesn't run the site to get rich! He runs it cause he loves it, and I can only applaud him for what he has achieved!

With Larry's permission I have posted some of his work above. He put no restrictions on me, and I've chosen some of my personal favourites!

An Australian Connection

I often read old magazines which have some connection with fetishism. Perhaps I'm just an old perv but I sometimes spot things which others may have missed.

A few years ago I came across some pictures which featured a stunningly dressed woman as shown in the pictures above.

I was curious at the time about just where the pictures were taken, and when.

Interestingly enough I then came across another picture. which appeared to have been taken at the same location but I couldn't be sure that the woman featured was the same.

As is often the case, I then found myself with more questions than I started with originally!

On looking at a Correspondence Issue of Exotique, I noticed a rather inconspicuous article written by Mr. GW of Melbourne, Australia. He laid claim to the photos stating that they were of his wife who had died some 15 years previously.

Although the Issue of Exotique doesn't have a date on it, it does have a couple of references to newspaper clips dated 1957. So from that it is safe to assume that Mr GW's wife passed away no later than approximately 1942.

I would hazard a guess that in the pictures she appears to be in her mid thirties and she still has a very small waist, according to Mr GW, only 17 inches!

Sadly we have no clue from his letter as to her age when she died, so we can only take an educated guess when the pictures were taken.

On closer inspection of the pictures looking at such boring things as the brick work in the walls, they are relatively modern, so my guess, probably around 1930 might not be unrealistic. The gardens show roses in the foreground, which can't really be seen as much of a clue, afterall, who in the gardening world doesn't like roses near a patio. It appears to be a largish house, perhaps even a hotel. I could be mistaken but it also seems the house has an annex with a newer extended section, which would fit in nicely with my guess at the picture being dated to around 1930.

On looking at other pictures shown in Bizarre Nostalgia which appear to have been taken in the grounds of a large building such as this I got to wondering if many of these pictures were taken around the same time and in the same location? Afterall, just how many people we into taking pictures of women dressed in fetish boots in those days?..not too many I would hazard a guess..so it is definitely possible!

Of course we can't be sure either that the pictures were actually taken in Australia. Afterall, many folks emigrated to Australia, and this may have happened after the pictures were taken.

It is however safe to assume that whoever owned the house or property shown in the pictures, was open to or actively involved in the wearing and indulging in fetish clothing and boots, as they allowed or encourage the taking of these pictures.

Sadly we will never really know the whole truth, but it's fun to uncover the history behind such wonderful pictures, don't you think? The guessing game goes on, unless you know some more to add to this unfolding hypothosis ?

Anna Held

Born in 1872, Anna Held lived quite a life until her death in 1918.

Born in Poland, she became a stage performer who became known more for her association with her common law husband, impressario Florenz Ziegfeld.

Why does this stage performer from 110 years ago warrant an entry on this blog you might ask. A good question, but actually Anna Held in 1902 commissioned a pair of 'strapped sandals' which were in reality 'thigh boots'.

As shown in the diagram these boots caused quite a stir at the time, and were reckoned to be something that had never been seen before, which was of course nonsense.

She paid the huge sum of $50 for them which in those days was an absolute fortune.
They were apparently made from the finest black kid leather and made to the following measurements. Size 3.5D, Ankle 8.5 inches,Calf size 14.5 inches,Knee 13.5 inches, Top of thigh 23 inches,heel Height 4.5 inches..and lastly 26 inches above the heel.

Sadly no pictures are known to exist of Anna in her custom made boots, however her mention in Boot History is well deserved, don't you think?

Another person very kindly made a donation to my 'image fund'.

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank this person very much. I kept to my word and have shown this person some full sized images I bought recently.

I was delighted to be able to buy them, as they are not only extremely rare but also stunningly beautiful too, so it's nice to be able to share them with fellow fans of such pictures. I'm sure some of you out there have perhaps felt that all you are doing by donating is helping me add to my collection.

However I would like to think that some may see past that and realise that it does cost alot to buy some of these rare images, and being honest I dont really see why I should give away freebies constantly at my own expense. Being I have never contemplated doing a paysite as such, and have tried to share as much info as I can from my own collections to make for interesting reading, I would hope most would'nt begrudge me trying to help pay for some of these rare items in some way!

As I did state though before, because of the cost involved in buying them I will only share copies of the rare pictures with those who wish to help by making a donation. I would hope that most would see that as fair!

For those of you who haven't thought of making a donation I've added a couple of small pics to show you what you are missing.

Bottier's Brick Wall

Last year out of the blue came an email to me from someone who claimed to have met the wife of 'Bottier'.

As you will remember from previous postings, Bottier was famous for his articles which appeared in London Life, back in the 1930's until around 1941, when the German Luftwaffe inadvertently bombed the publisher of London Life putting production of this curious magazine to an abrupt halt.

The person who emailled me made many claims, one of which was knowing the true identity of Bottier, amongst other things. The accounts made by this person I took to be genuine, but when I pressed for more information from him, I was met regularly by somewhat of a brick wall. This persons refusal to identify Bottier seemed somewhat strange. Afterall if the claims made were true, Bottier had been dead some 30 years..his late wife, some 25 years. Possibly there were children, who knows, but protecting the identity of persons who died many years ago seems somewhat bizarre.

Unfortunately if this person does know, they may be the only one left who does!

So we are left with another mystery, and the mystery may remain so unless this person relents.

Sadly I think we may have reached a dead end once more. The emailler has gone silent and I am left wondering why the person bothered in the first place. Perhaps the vague innuendos and inferences serve to confuse and not enlighten us.

A pity really but unless someone else knows anymore info Bottier's brick wall may be the conclusion to this story!

For those that want a special pair of boots, I am about to list on ebay a pair of very rare boots I had made a while back.

I had them made in the vintage 1950's style with 6 inch heels. They are UK Size 11 USA Size 13. They are crotch length, made from genuine black patent leather. They are eyelet closure, not speed hooks. they are crotch length and are 32inches in length above the heel. I have more pictures of them if anyone wants to see them. If you wanted to buy a pair like this you'd have to pay over £500 so I'm hoping to get a reasonable price for them. I have only worn them once. The Good Ole Days

I was thinking recently after coming across some old pics, how much modern media has changed the way we live.

We forget how things were. If you want to find someone or something we can find what we want with a few clicks on the internet. If you want to find a good pair of boots, just do a google search and bingo, up pops what you want.

However in the good ole days, bootmakers didn't have the wonders of the internet. Instead they were confined to advertising in the national newspapers and produce catalogues that you could send away for.

I've posted a few relics of the past above to illustrate some of the delights we miss today!

Auction Nutcase

I was contemplating bidding on an Ebay auction for a really nice vintage picture.

The Seller machi-san replied to a message I sent asking if he was prepared to ship to the UK. He stated I needed to pay a fee of $15 on top of the auction price, to verify my signature. Interestingly this fee was not listed on his auction!

My sarcastic comments didn't go down very well I'm afraid, after I asked him if he wanted to add on any additional fees, such as one for verifying my address..or the country I live in etc.

He decided to call me a moron for querying his 'additional fee'.

I think anyone wishing to bid on this auction should do so with caution.

I've posted a copy of the picture from his auction..so in reality there really is no need to buy the picture..lol.

Nonsense

Some time ago I posted a mention on the blog, regarding a magazine published by Eros in 1976 called Bizarre Nostalgia.

The magazine shown above clearly states that it is Volome 4 Number 4 (part 1).

My natural assumption was that there must be other parts. On scanning the internet recently I came across a mention of, copies of, Volume 4 Number 4 & Number 5, being held by the Leather Archives & Museum in Chicago. The boast a large library of Old Magazines which appear to have been donated.

My first thought was to contact them to see if there was any possibility of obtaining scans etc of pictures etc held in Number 5.

Sadly they seem to not wish anyone to see them. They weren't prepared to copy or scan any part of the magazine for fear of breach of copyright.

Bizarre really because the old pictures no doubt shown in this magazine are not owned by Eros..they can't own the copyright to them. So their magazine was made in breach of someone elses copyright. So the notion they could be prosecuted is Nonsense!

Perhaps this shows how stupid copyright laws can be!

I know, they are to protect the integrity of someones work, but who is actually being protected?

They obviously don't see it that way sadly. I guess as they say, the hunt for the missing magazines goes on !!

So much for helpful Museums. I guess , just another fact of life!

Estresmodes

Some time back I mentioned a site called Heikes Heels. The site itself had seemingly become the 'marie celeste'. You knew someone had been there once but there was now an empty shell !

Heiles Heels featured some outrageous heels. Although I never actually joined the site, I actually loved the heels and boots on it. It was in fact what prompted me to buy a pair of 12" platform thigh boots for my girlfriend, which incidently I later sold to Mistress Tokyo in a fit of madness..lol.

Pablo Beneit is now the man behind long established family run business Estresmodes.com

Pablo was the maker of the boots shown in Heikes Heels amongst other things. If I had to guess I'd say he also makes for La Piazza. His grandfather started the business in 1929.

Located in Spain his website is in spanish, but you can click on the english flag to roughly translate the pages.

Go take a look!! Amazing platforms and wonderful high heeled boots at reasonable prices too. Of course if you want the really extreme stuff it's gonna cost you..but you pay for what you get!

Go check them out, they even do colour combinations..thank god!

Heaven Knows Anything Goes

As the old song goes 'In olden days, a glimpse of stocking, was thought of as something shocking, but heaven knows, anything goes'!

I couldn't put it better myself, but I often wondered what Cole Porter was thinking about when he wrote the song. I'm sure many would have a theory, but it just seems quite apt when I think of pictures like these.

The source of the pictures about will remain anonymous as requested, however the originator of these lovely images was Yva Richard.

It never ceases to amaze me how the innoncence portrayed in these lovely images shines through like a beacon. Untainted by modern misconceptions, the models look perfectly at ease in a moment that is timeless.

I can't thank the person who sent me these enough. I'm just glad I am able to share them with you too! Watch out for more of these beauties still to come!

Level 2

I was watching a funny film recently about the US Army training in paranormal activity as an alternate way of fighting wars. Each time one of the characters approached a situation, he resorted to the next 'Level' to deal with it. A form of 'thinking out of the box' as it were.

Perhaps you could think of it in terms of watching a film in 2D, then trying 3D!

I'm sad when I think of modern bootmakers. They only seem to think in terms of 2D.

Fashion designers think of weird and wonderful, if not completely impractical designs, but very few actually see what stares in the face of the untrained eye. By that I mean..the blatantly obvious. I'm not saying that interesting ideas are a bad thing, but what happened to just plain old colour combinations??

Everything seems to be Red, Black or White nowadays..mostly black! If you look at catalogues of current bootmakers, I'm struggling to think of one that makes a black boot with a red heel..or red scallop lace up feature.

I know most bootmakers are gonna say, we can make whatever you want. That to me is missing the point! Why do they make something in different colour combinations and see what the reaction is?

I've added a few pics which attempt to illustrate my point.

One exception is Boot and shoemaker 'Pleaser' which recently came up with the 'gangster' boot. Personally I quite like this, because it is different. Sadly these are few and far between and the quality with the cheaper makes isnt that brilliant.

Do bootmakers really lack inspiration?..or is it that because they work with something everyday they don't see what they could do?..or is it perhaps they don't like experimenting? Perhaps there just isn't a market for something different?

Interesting New Finds

I've made contact recently with one or two folks who collect pictures and as I've been swapping pictures with them, it has been fascinating seeing the occasional rare picture pop up, which I personally hadn't seen before.

I'd like to thank those folks who have kindly been swapping images!

Above are 2 pictures which appeared out of a magazine, only these had boots. The image quality isnt brilliant but they are quite fascinating. I would hazard a guess they date back to the time of Yva Richard or Biederer but I could be wrong. Good friend Manoleat feels sure they are from the Guyette stable. If this is true..which publication did these appear in?..anyone know??

Do you have a better quality scan of these?..if so let me know!

Ilias Little Shoe Box

I noticed on the new issue that The Little Shoe Box was making a re-appearance after having closed down some time ago.

TLSB was a bootmaker of great quality but sadly it let itself down because it was very disorganised and you didn't always get what you ordered. Sometimes they lost your order and you kinda felt that you were chasing your tail.

Not being the most patient of people I had to temper my feelings of frustration until the item finally arrived.

On noticing in the latest edition of Bootlovers, mention that one of the bootmakers from TLSB, Ilias Iliazi, was reopening the famous name, I eagerly clicked on the link for the new website.

Sadly the website is up but my instinct tells me there is a virus or some such located on the website as things start opening up that shouldn't! Not only that but the website will not let you add an email address, it doesn't recognise any! Lastly you cannot contact them, they have no telephone number, and the only way to currently contact them is through the website, which isnt functioning properly!

So I guess it's very much a case of watch this space!

Let's hope they get this sorted out and that once again we will be able to order from TLSB once again and get this famous name back on the map!

A Promising New Year

Well a New Year dawns and I hope you all have a prosperous one!

We start the New Year with fresh optimism, and having had a little break from the blog I feel excited, that with some good luck and good fortune perhaps the blog may itself have a prosperous 2011.

I read with interest in the new issue of Bootlovers that one of the bootmakers from The Little Shoe Box has started up as Ilias The Little Shoe Box. Let's wish him well and hope his enterprising spirit is rewarded. Unfortunately his website seems to have a virus on it..so lets hope he gets that sorted in due course.

In the meantime.. I'll be kicking of the blog again shortly and have some great new things to post..so keep watching !!

The Image Fund

Time Out

I've decided to take some time out from doing this blog for a short while.

I've kinda hit 'the wall' when it comes to the blog because I am beginning to run out of things to say about boots. I don't want to post stuff just for the sake of it, and be like bootlovers blog, relying on pics from magazines to keep it going.

As inspiration seems to be lacking for me just now, perhaps it is time to put the blog to sleep for a little while. So in the meantime I will leave the blog up for folks to view with a few items removed.

I will concentrate for a while on my Klaw Archives Blog for a month or so, and perhaps return to the boot blog when inspiration returns in the New Year..till then..thanks for your support in the past and ciao for now xx

Winter Wellies

With winter fast approaching I thought it might be a good idea to talk about what is gonna be the best thing for protecting against the elements when the snow finally arrives.

Personally I am not a great fan of wellies. Although they are practical and soft to wear, they arent the most stylish of things, more practical!

To be honest I am not even sure the site is still running, however I noticed they had some very high heeled boots, but some of them were also open toed. For those not sure what I mean..the toes are exposed.

I was trying to think of someone who actually makes open toed boots now and was struggling to think of someone. I know La Piazza used to sell them, but as for others..hmm???

To those of you that perhaps have no idea what AH-23 is, I will explain.

It was a bondage movie which starred 'America's Sweetheart' Sally Roberts, with sidekick Susan Blair. It appears to be a movie which has for the most part disappeared, although Harmony lets you download it from a site in Finland, of all places.

Sadly they have not chosen to put it out on DVD, I guess there isnt enough demand for it. For the boot fetishist its a beauty, because Sally Roberts, who always looked very sexy bound and gagged, is found wearing a gorgeous pair of lace up black patent knee length boots.

Sally Roberts starred in many Arrow production bondage movies. Don't get me wrong, these aren't acting masterclasses. Of course the bondage is what folks are interested in. However she often wore boots and fetish outfits, so I suppose she always had a special place in my heart.

As we fast approach the unbelievable 150,000 hits mark for my blog, I thought I'd mark this momentus occasion with something special!

The two pictures shown above were part of a series taken by one of Irving Klaw's photographers between 50-60 years ago.

I called them the 'EE' series for obvious reasons, being they are all numerically labelled 'EE'.

However through the mists of time some of the images from this series emerged, and found their way onto publications from Belier Press and Harmony. However due to the fact that so many of his images were destroyed in a vain attempt at some form of pacification of US law enforcement agencies, many of the images also disappeared forever.

By some odd coincidence I recently purchased one of the series from someone on Ebay (EE12), my good friend, and regular contributor, Manoleat had acquired another (EE11) not long ago and kindly sent me a copy of that.

So it is my pleasure to display these two beautiful images, once more reunited together.

I hope you like them as much as I, and should you own a hidden gem like these..why not share them with us, so we can let others enjoy them too!

I seem to go on and on about it, but if we don't get such images on display, they may end up being lost forever!

I am always on the look out for something new, whether is it a new design, a new bootmaker, a new idea, boot style etc, that has a boot connection.

I am delighted to say we have a new and exciting bootmaker emerging from Hong Kong.

His name is Allan, and he is a genuine boot and glove fetishist, who started selling his own range of boots and gloves in 2008.

I really like this guy, no nonsense, plain and simple, no frills, what you see is what you get approach. Personally I like this, because it's genuine! He doesnt have an expensive shop, he sells only online to cut down costs. He doesnt have elaborate pictures, because he isnt a professional photographer, but he concentrates on you the customer. I emailled him and got a reply almost immediately!!!!!! How many bootmakers can claim to do that?

He makes a whole range of boots and gloves from ballet style to ordinary thigh boots and knee boots and extreme heels. He offers 'Buy It Now' if he has it already available, custom made and made to measure!! Complimentary Hat?

I'd never really thought too much about accessories when it comes to taking pictures of a pervy nature until I started taking them myself.

The composition of an image can make all the difference, but I suppose once again images from the past, subconsciously influence the end product. Of course we like to think that the image was all our own creation but in fact in reality, it's probably been done by someone else before somewhere.

The images shown have all the hallmarks of Klaw images, however they are infact Lennie Burtman images I think. The model has a lovely pair of knee high boots, and is dressed in not alot else. The hat I think is there to give the impression the model has just come in and undressed for you to see. Personally I think it works quite well as an image.

I know my good friend Manoleat has an image of how he'd like his model to dress when modelling his vintage boots, which includes long leather gloves and a hat.

So is a hat a complimentary addition to a boot clad lady? I guess the simple answer is it depends on the hat. I doubt a Carmen Miranda bowl of fruit hat would do any model any favours in the beautiful booted image stakes!

Personally I quite like the vintage images of a booted girl wearing a hat..but then again I love them in long leather opera gloves too..it's very much personal taste isnt it. Functionality has a big part to play in the proceedings.

Let's just enjoy the images and enjoy them for what they are!

Evelyn Out Of The Grave

The Night Evelyn Came Out Of The Grave was a film made in 1971. It is not a film you want to try to make sense of, as basically it's a disaster.

A bizarre Italian film which has lots of ideas basically thrown together in a very nonsensical way.

However if you get past trying to be a film critic and enjoy some of the scenes in it, as a boot fetishist you may enjoy the thigh booted scene set in the dungeon.

The Holy Grail

In all my time collecting old Boot images..I have never yet found one of Betty Page wearing a pair of thigh high boots.

I guess somewhere out there in someones closet is one such picture, who knows? It's abit like the search for the Holy Grail. It should exist..according to eminent authorities it does..but noone can find it!

Recently I was looking through the website of MSN (Movie Star News)and decided to take a more detailed look at the images of Betty Page listed as being available.

Tucked at the end of one page was a not very clear image, which I missed at first glance, which appeared to be Betty Page in Thigh Boots!!

Oh my..It couldn't be true could it?? Right there under my very nose.

Well of course there was only one course of action.

Now in my possession is said image shown above. To be fair, on it's own, it could be mistaken for being Betty Page.

Sadly though, I'm afraid to say it isnt. Much as it is a lovely image it is actually from another set of pictures, one of which is also shown.

Oh well..the search for the Holy Grail continues..c'est la vie !!

Collette Dubois

I found these two delightful pictures of model and actress Collette Dubois recently.

Unfortunately I havent been able to find out too much about her, other than to say she appears to have be a small part actress in the 1950's. I think she may have done more modelling than acting.

The pictures have the feel of Lenny Burtman and Exotique, but I can't be sure.

A nice pair of high heeled lace up calf boots though.

There Must Be One !

I was chatting to my good friend, and fellow boot fetishist, Manoleat, the other day.

He, as you have maybe read before on my blog, has a collection of very special boots, which he has collected over the years.

Sometime back, I posted a mention on this blog about him looking for a girl to model his boots for him.

Now I am sure one or two who maybe read this blog may think, boot fetishist= rich..therefore I'll get paid handsomely. Of course the reality is, like many collectors, we hope that someone is going to take the opportunity to wear something of such rarity, as a unique opportunity, rather than for financial gain.

Manoleat lives in Germany..so really it needs to be someone in Germany or visiting Germany..that wants to take the oppotunity to try on these amazingly rare boots..just so they can be the only one to be photographed wearing them!

Perhaps I nievely thought girls would jump at this unique chance. The reality is that no-one seems interested unless they get paid!

Come on folks..lets try and find one person that would model these boots.

Is there really nobody out there, that is prepared to wear these amazing boots, without Manoleat having to shell out loads of money?

I find it hard to believe!!

Afterall, if you got the chance to have their picture taken with someone famous like Steve McQueen (when he was alive that is!)..would they then expect him to pay them for it? Perhaps that's not a good analogy, but am I missing something here?

I sometimes feel that money is more important sadly. Which perhaps makes us then question as to what the true motive for us being into fetishism really is..or do we just see it as a way to have abit of fun and why not try and make some money at the same time. In other words..would we see ourselves as a true boot fetishist or just someone that is in it for a buck?

I take the time out of my busy schedule to write this blog. Ok I am biased as it's a labour of love for me..but I do it for nothing. I don't ask folks for anything but to hopefully enjoy it. Is society so mean now, that we won't do anything unless we get paid?

A Musical Icon

I suppose being a child of the 1960's and doing my schooling during the 1970's I was lucky enough to be around when many exciting things musically were happening.

I can't lay claim to remember too much about the Beatles until after about 1965, but I do remember a singer of one band who probably got the heart beating more than many others female singers in my youth.

Of course I guess many would think automatically of their own favourite, mine was Debbie Harry from the group Blondie. Although formed in the early seventies, they didn't really hit the big time in the Uk until about 1977.

I'm not gonna bore you with details about her because of course you can see many telly programs and documentaries about her rise to fame. Almost a minute doesnt go by when one radio station or another isn't playing one of their records.

However she seemed to be quite iconic for her time, and not only that, she was often to be photographed wearing boots whilst on stage or in public, so I am guessing she does like wearing them.

The Secret Filming Process

It's quite interesting when you scan video sites such as YouTube etc.

If you type in the search box 'boots' or 'patent boots' and such like, it's fascinating what pops up. Not only do you get videos with girls wearing boots, but guys too.

Many of those posted by guys of themselves wearing boots, are dressed as girls or in girls clothing. Tv's perhaps or as someone once said..'those yet to make up their mind' !

I am guessing perhaps they are maybe single but of course that isn't necessarily the case, and perhaps it may be wrong of me to make such assumptions, but as they are holding the camera or that the camera is static, would seem to suggest they are alone on that occasion, so it might appear they wish to secretly film themselves wearing boots of some description. The exhibitionist tendency must be there as they are filming secretly but wish to be seen on the net!

In some instances they have gone to the lengths of finding a location where they can film themselves walking in the boots of their choice, 'in public' so to speak. The question springs to mind, as to why pick a time or place when nobody is there? If someone is desparate to film themselves in public in boots, why do it secretly?

The answer I guess is simple of course. It's back to our old friend 'Social attitudes'.

In todays world..what is wrong with a guy wanting to wear a pair of boots? There must be something wrong when we have to sneak about taking pictures so nobody witnesses the event. Does that imply we are ashamed of wearing boots?

Answers on a postcard please!

I find it sad in such a modern world we feel we have to sneak about wearing boots. Afterall..they are only clothing. The media has alot to answer for!!

I was looking at some old pictures the other day. I figured because of the style of the clothes, which look very much of the 1930's and 1940's they come from that era.

I doubt many girls would be seen nowadays wearing some of the Carmen Miranda style headwear, however the beautiful boots actually make the outfits look very stylish.

Now I wonder just how many girls would actually go out these days in this kinda retro look?

I would guess quite a few as that style of clothing has been very much in fashion of late.

Like it or not, to me it is very stylish..but then I am biased.

I can't be sure but think this was originally published in the 1960's. I noted this week that the new issue of Bootlovers appeared. Interestingly it features some pictures and an article on Mistress Tokyo wearing a pair of 12" Black Patent Leather Thigh Boots.

I don't actually have access to the relavent issue so I can't really say what is said about the history of the custom made boots, but I hope the article accurately reflects the origins of these boots.

Why do I say this I hear you ask.

Simple really..Mistress Tokyo got them from me..hehe.

They were custom made but not for Mistress Tokyo..they were in fact made for my girlfriend.

After we closed down our fetish website, we decided to sell off some of the boots we had. Of course I didn't realise that TLSB was gonna close down too otherwise i wouldn't have sold em, cause they would be worth a small fortune now, especially as you see so many 'chancers' trying to sell off their unused TLSB boots, (which they no doubt bought as an investment), for ludicrous sums of money. I saw one guy selling off a worn pair of purple ballet boots recently, for the meagre asking price of $1300!!!

After Mistress Tokyo bought these boots from us, she had them altered, as her calf muscles are alittle thinner than my partners'. However we still have some lovely footage of my girlfriend wearing these gorgeous boots, and some of fetish model, and friend LittleMissChaos wearing them too. I will of course add something to the blog in due course, but here are a few pictures to tempt you.

I was perusing Ebay the other day and came across a very bizarre pair of thigh length boots, as shown in the pictures above.

Alexander McQueen designed these, and the poor guy who bought them paid $2695 !!!

I was contemplating phoning for the men in white coats to come take this poor guy away! Has the world gone mad?

Of course they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder..but I can't say these do anything for me..let alone pay that kind of ridiculous money for them. One has to admire McQueen's arrogance for charging such a ludicrous amount, but really I think some folks must have more money than sense..but then who am I to mock..afterall..McQueen was famous..I am not :)

I mentioned recently, that I had ordered a new pair of boots from Leatherworks.

I mentioned that when they had arrived there was a slight problem with them. A mistake at the back of the thigh.

When I contacted Leatherworks to complain, without hesitation they offered to make me a new pair Free of Charge.

How's that for great service??

Now I know some might say that we don't complain enough here in the UK. In this case I had previously been grumbling about the length of time they took to make the boots.

Let's wait and see if the new ones are correct. I do hope so..but they get 5 stars for service, and you can't say that about many places nowadays!!

Horses Anyone?

Personally I have never been into horses or Show Jumping..or even Horse Racing.

I've never been attracted either to the folks that ride em either. I don't mean that in a nasty way, because I am sure they are genuinely nice folks.

Horses are beautiful creatures, but the horse riding set, has that kind of elitist feel about it. It's almost something your average person can't afford to do. Some might say the same about golf, but the sheer expense of buyng a horse, keeping it and maintaining it, doesn't place it in the same category as owning a standard pet..like a cat for example. I'm not trying to upset horse owners so I hope folks don't take this the wrong way..but if you own a horse box you most likely have more money than I do :)

Of course this kind of smacks of social envy on my part and it isnt true really, and of course many lovely people enjoy the pleasures of horse riding. So perhaps it's my views which are outdated, and if so I do apologise :)

I was however reading recently an article in the papers about Show Jumping is trying to brush off it's 'stuffy' image in an attempt to attract a new audience. To do this one event published some delightful pictures featuring Show Jumpers Laura Renwick and Georgie Strutton posing suggestively for the cameras. Now if Show Jumpers look this good I think most boot fetishists may take note hehe.

I've never really been a fan of riding boots either, but perhaps if they look this good maybe we may yet be converted.

Students of Boots is a website that has been running now for a few years. They really have gone from strength to strength, with now a large selection of excellent pictures and video.

What I like about them though is they are what I might consider to be innovators.

Why do I say that?.. I hear you ask. Well being honest, anyone who has the courage of their convictions, and works with a bootmaker to produce their own range of excellent boots (Fernando Berlin) is gonna get my vote!!

I've spoken before about or mysterious Bottier. An interesting article appeared in a magazine published sometime back called Bizarre Nostalgia, which was written by Bottier, which had originally appeared in an issue of London Life.

It is interesting to note he talks about how he used to make Boots. From the information I was given regarding Bottier by someone who actually met Bottier's wife a year before she passed away, he didn't make boots! So the question comes to mind..why would he say he did?

Perhaps his line between reality and fantasy was somewhat blurred?..who knows. All the same it makes for interesting reading. Just click on the pictures to read the article.

Sadly I still have not recieved the boots I ordered from Leatherworks 7 weeks ago.

When I get an email from them promising that they would be ready for this weekend, I suppose being I have been waiting what I consider a long time, I would hope they might make my order as a priority.

You can't fault the quality of workmanship of Leatherworks boots, but it makes me wonder just how important certain customers are? Which is more important, a one off celebrity, or a regular who buys several times per year?

An age old question I guess for any retailler..and I suppose the answer is that they are equally important. Trying to keep customers happy can be a nightmare, but I personally get annoyed when I am quoted 3 weeks for delivery to find 7 weeks later I am still waiting!

Perhaps it does take 7 weeks to make one pair of boots? I would doubt it. If was going to be pedantic I would guess they have had in the region of 350 hours to make my boots. Even to me that seems alot! I could have flown from London to Egypt return 35 times in the same timescale!!

To me this is unacceptable!

Do you think I am being unreasonable?

Would they keep Prince or Stella McCartney (who they state they have made for in the past), waiting 7 weeks I wonder?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Eyes Everywhere?

I was chatting yesterday to my good friend Manoleat. He was telling me that I'd missed a pair of vintage boots, shown above, which had appeared a few months back on Ebay Australia, made from purple leather.

I had very mixed feelings because on the one hand, it was lovely to see such an old pair of boots had survived so long, and still in great condition.

On the other hand I was annoyed because I would have bid for them if I had known they were on sale. More annoyed at myself perhaps for not spotting them. As it turned out Mistress Tokyo appears to have been the buyer, so hun if you are reading this perhaps you'd share some info about them, if you can.

It does raise several issues though!

The first of which is..you need to be lucky to spot when these appear, or at least be able to monitor auction sites virtually everyday to find them. So it appears you need to have eyes everywhere, or at least alot of time to hunt for collectable boots.

Sadly these days I just don't have the time to spare. Perhaps we should set up a watchdog system.

The reality is in fact delight that these have survived. I just hope at some stage someone gets to wear them once again, and show them off to their best. Let's hope so!

Of course, over time, the number of visitors has risen quite dramatically, and the number of followers has swelled too!.

I don't really wish to repeat some of the articles because I feel sometimes that it's easy to rehash old items by giving them a new lick of paint. However some of the items I've added can't really be added to..so please take time out to explore some of the older entries on the site.

Production Delays

I would like to think I am a good advocate for Leatherworks. I have bought from them on more than one occasion, and the boots they make are always excellent quality.

So perhaps someone can tell me why they never meet delivery deadlines?

On ordering the latest pair of boots from them, which admittedly, are custom made, they stated a delivery time of 3 weeks from receiving payment.

Here we are now 6/7 weeks after they emailled to say they got my cheque, and the boots still havent arrived!

How frustrating!!

Another Milestone

When I started my little blog, I wasn't really sure just what to expect.

I suppose when you start out with no pre-concieved ideas, it helps alot because you have no great expectations.

I've been delighted to see the response to my ramblings on the blog, and as mini milestones have passed by, I've genuinely been taken aback. Passing 100,000 hits was way beyond my wildest dreams, and I've been watching the numbers of Followers gradually rise too.

Another Milestone for me is getting to 50 Followers, which seems imminent.
